Where is all the time going? Why does it seem like forever when you're waiting for something, but when you have a deadline it comes all too quick?
So I just got back from what was probably the longest 2 weeks of my life! I was back home with my family up in Washington, which was way fun, but I realized that I no longer have a life up there. All of my friends are now married or have moved on, which meant I spent every day trying to figure out something productive to do with my life. Worst yet was the fact that we got unprecedented amounts of snow that kept me stuck on top of our hill for like 4 days! Ridiculous! The city didn't know what to do with themselves, and unexperienced snow drivers caused issues. Let me relate a few of stories:
1) Driving home from the airport - It's snowing and snow is on the freeway. Some lunatic drives by us going 50+! I'm not afraid to drive in the snow, but it's all the other people on the road that freak me out.
2) The local news station (KING 5) makes an announcement regarding accidents - "If it is a minor accident or if you have enough cash on hand to make the repairs, please don't call your insurance companies. They're swamped." REALLY???!!! There were that many accidents???So what's insurance good for anyways?
3) Driveways/Sidewalks - I think I shoveled over 50 of these, including my own 5 times....
4) Hills - I can't count on my hands the number of people who thought they could stop on a snowy/icy hill and start back up again. Needless to say, myself and others were always around for a good push.
5) Hills part II - I witnessed the CRAZIEST car accidents (yes, plural) of my life regarding an icy hill and those stupid enough to attempt driving on it. Oh yeah, and it was funny watching people try and walk on it too. This is going to require some visuals at one point- Yay! Microsoft Publisher! So, a lady in our ward drives down said hill and proceeds to lose control and hit two parked cars leaving her in the predicament shown below:
Now, she was still only halfway down the hill, so we needed to get her out of the road. We didn't want to drive, because this would of course risk sliding the rest of the way down the hill. We tried convincing the Mustang to drive down into the empty dry space, but the owner thought it was too risky. So we were trying to find some chains for her Durango when a new character entered the playing field. Hello Astro Van!
Oh no! Don't do it!
CRASH! Then an amazing thing happened. The Durango slid into the following position without hitting a single other car as the Astro Van continued to the bottom of the hill:
So, we got in her car and easily parked it in the dry space till the ice melted away days later. Amazingly, her car was barely dented from the collision, but the Astro Van was totally smashed on one side. Then the driver of the van (still being an idiot) DROVE BACK UP THE HILL TO SEE IF WE WERE ALL OKAY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!! Did he not realize that he would then have to travel BACK DOWN the same hill he couldn't handle earlier? Some people I just don't get.....
And if you didn't notice my title, I'm getting married in 11 days!!!! Amazing!

Hi Tiffany,
I was just on Jeanne's blog and saw that you had one too. It will be fun to read up on you and your comings and goings. I love blogging and blog surfing so was really excited to see you have one. Nice job on the accident visuals! :-)
Okay, I just realized this is Paul, Tiffany's hubby who is writing this blog. I am a friend of the Bishops. I used to live across the street from them in Orem.
