Kaylie turned 1!

Seriously how has it been a year since my angel baby was born? We loved celebrating her birthday- we celebrated it in California, in Utah, and then in Arizona. She wasn't crazy about the frosting but enjoyed eating some of the cupcake. Kaylie is my sweet, snuggling love. She is much more opinionated now, she knows just what she wants which gets frustrating to her when we don't understand what she's thinking of. She can't quite walk on her own but loves to hold our hands and walk all around. She constantly begs to go outside especially when the older kids run in and out. She now hates her stroller and hates being held- so we really need to get the walking thing down. I've started putting her to bed earlier- around 6:45 and now she sleeps til at least 7 most days! She then takes a tiny morning nap sometimes and a long afternoon nap around noon. I'm loving her schedule lately- much better than when she was stuck on waking up around 5:30-6. Kaylie loves wearing bows- anytime she sees a headband she'll hold it to her head and whine until I put it on her. She also loves to play with babies and to wear a purse. She eats much better when she's not in her high chair which is a habit I need to break fast! She has become more of a picky eater, probably because she's always teething or sick. She loves to climb up slides and swing and likes swimming for a few minutes- then gets sick of it. We love her and are so grateful to have her in our family!
It was fun to celebrate with the cousins. Being together makes life so exciting!

I loved taking Kaylie on a trip to Utah in May and it was so fun to have time alone with her. She's gotten used to the craziness of our lives but sometimes I feel bad that she doesn't get as much attention as the other two did when they were babies. But I guess she's always entertained.

Utah time

The kids and I flew from Oakland to Provo for some family time before going back to Arizona. The flight was a little crazy- everything possible went wrong and we BARELY made it to our flight, but the kids did really well and I was grateful for that. We loved our time in Utah spending time with so many family members- both Bishops and Rumseys.

The kids had such a great time with the cousins- it was hard to say goodbye after seeing how close they got in just a few days. Lyla and Kaitlyn are best buds- the loved dressing up together, swimming, dancing, playing Elsa together. Such sweet girls. They helped with Allison's baby shower and were so excited to be allowed to stay with the women. Alyssa did their hair and they loved their matching dresses.

Madison & Trevor roaring at the dinosaur museum. This boy only knows how to be loud- nothing quiet about our family these days.

For a few hours, all of my siblings were there together. It was so fun to spend time with each one, miss you all!
Perfect chaos with 8 young children running around all week...
These were their Elsa dresses. Luckily Nana had two of them. And sweet Madison somehow didn't get sad not to have one.

Of course our favorite part of the visit was swimming together for hours each day. I love this pool and my dream in life is to have one like it someday.  My happy place is to be enjoying the warm water and beautiful landscape with people I love. Nothing better!

It was quite an effort to take a pic of all the grandkids with Nana and Papa. Half of them were crying the whole time and it's already outdated since baby Dallin was born a month later.

A big part of the trip was celebrating the new babies who were about to join the family. We had fun putting on a shower for Allison.

Then we went out to lunch to celebrate Alisha's twin girls. So fun to be together and to talk about sweet babies. I love how the family is growing and it's so fun to help each other through these times. Poor Alisha was sick during her lunch, which was the start of a week of throwing up that passed through the whole house. It definitely put a damper on the fun because we were all terrified of getting sick, or dealing with sick kids, or sick ourselves. Everyone got the bug in some form except for Allison, Abigail, and Nana. We've already decide that next time we're all getting together, we will avoid nursery and any other germ-spreading place for weeks before.

We spent an afternoon boating. Half of us were sick so it wasn't the most lively trip, but it was still fun. Trevor and Kaylie didn't love wearing life jackets.

We spent a day at the new Museum of Curiosity which the kids loved, and then Nana bought them ice cream- such a rare treat for them! So fun.

My Tinkerbell

The timing of the trip was perfect because we were able to spend some time with Ben before he left on his mission as well as Sue, Jared and the Petersons.  The kids loved an afternoon of playing and eating and soaking up all the attention. And then Lyla and I went to lunch right before Ben went to the MTC.  We miss you Ben- the people of Merida,  Mexico are lucky to have you!
 So sweet!

Lyla loved being thrown back and forth by uncle Jared and Grandma. Too fun!

Goodbye San Ramon!

We loved our 2 month adventure in San Ramon, but were ready to say goodbye and move on to the next step of this whole process. We loved visiting parks, splash pads, and the Aviation Museum in our last few weeks. Trevor thought it was the coolest thing because he's a fan of Dusty from Planes.

This girl is growing so fast! She did great eating on the floor while we were there- and our ugly tarp under our folding table somehow saved the carpet. Living in an apartment for a few months was nice in some ways- everything was very simple so it wasn't hard to keep clean and very few toys meant less messes and less fighting (although they found new things to fight over). It was nice to have a playground and pool right there that we didn't have to take care of. The hard parts were living on the third floor and having to carry my children and groceries up that far. Trevor often threw tantrums as we were getting home and wanted to be carried up, so he would just sit and scream in the stairwell. It was also hard having someone live underneath us- we aren't very quiet and several times the tenents below us pounded on their ceiling to tell us to be quiet. It was stressful to me especially dealing with bad behavior times- no idea how people are able to live in apartments with young kids without getting complaints. Maybe it's just my kids... Anyway after those things and sleeping on an air mattress for that long, I was ready to pack up and move on. We do miss the beautiful weather and all there is to do there!
Poor Kaylie just wants to be like the big kids and she loves the ipad, but they find ways to get up high where she can't reach.
We spent a fun weekend with Allison, my good friend and roommate from BYU years. We loved swimming in her aunts pool, hanging out, and I loved escaping for some girl time. We were very close when we lived in Provo and it was fun to catch up.
Hard to see- but Lyla was feeding Kaylie. She would hold out the food and Kaylie would eat it out of Lyla's hand like a dog. :) Cute baby.

Kaylie learned to love parks this summer. She loves playing and swinging whenever I'm able to get her out of the stroller and help her.
