I can't believe it's been 2 whole years since Tyson left on his mission to the Guatemala North Mission. It doesn't seem long ago when Lyla and i spent the week with him before he entered the MTC. It's crazy that now she is almost 3 and now my baby is Trevor! Life changes so quickly.
I drove down with my kids on Sunday evening - August 5th. I settled them in bed and was ready to pick up the babysitter so I could greet Ty at the airport, but then found out the flight was delayed. They kept delaying it so that instead of coming in at 11, it didn't get in until after 1 am. I decided it was too late so I tried to sleep a bit and then woke up to welcome the tired travelers at 3 am.
We all went to St George for a few days so that we could have Tyson all to ourselves to get reacquainted. We sweated through Aladdin at Tuacahn- it was 97 degrees at 10:30 at night!
We spent 3 days boating and we all had a blast! It was so hot that we loved frequent jumps into the refreshing water. Trevor loved cuddling with Nana and he took great naps in her arms every day.
Every time lyla got too hot, she asked Alyssa to jump in with her
He even fell asleep standing up, just like Lyla did last year.
Crazy Josh helped me take the kids on the tub. We went super slow and Lyla loved it! Trevor wasn't as happy cuz he hated his life jacket.
We had fun relaxing together, but then it was nice to go back to Orem where Jeanne and then Paul joined us for the weekend. We missed them and Alisha in St. George, and definitely missed the rest of the Grossarths the whole time. Can't wait for Christmas!!
Our true characters coming out...very scary :) I have so many great memories of all 7 of us and it was fun to laugh about all of our funny stories from growing up. Life has changed for all of us but we all love getting together and hanging out. Tyson already seems so adjusted and is ready to start school in less than a week. He is so open and takes such an interest in each of our lives. I feel like we were able to pick right back up and I feel so close to him despite the 2 year gap.
