39 weeks --- dilated to a 4 as of last Thursday --- bags are packed --- playing the waiting gameThis little boy better make his appearance soon or our freezer is going to overflow. I've been spending my time making meals to freeze so I don't have to cook for the next few months- and both of our freezers are packed. Paul just shakes his head whenever he looks inside.
For the last few weeks my doctor has said she wouldn't be surprised if I went into labor any time, so I've been in a constant state of nervous anticipation. Although I'm worried about what lies ahead, I'm feeling more ready for it all. We'll see how it all goes!

The project that has kept me busy over the last 6 months:
I decided that before life gets too busy to work on projects, I wanted to make another quietbook. I spent months looking at different templates online in order to determine what pages I wanted to work on. Here is the finished product at this point, although I used eyelets and rings to hold the book together so I can add more pages when I want. I made two covers because the pages are so thick that they fit better in two books. These pictures don't have the best lighting, but I was too lazy to retake them:
I got the idea for this matching sports page from my friend Kelsey:
Dress Mr. & Mrs. Potato head:
The extra clothes and accessaries can go in the basket or be clipped on the clothes pins:
Tie the ballet shoe or the tennis shoe:
Matching colors on a color pallet. I thought the paint brushes would be fun to use to "paint" on the colors. Also, the spinning color wheel will hopefully be fun:
I love the road page. I found erasers in the shape of a bus, truck, and helicopter and Lyla loves playing with them!!
Counting page with petals that come off and can be put in the green pocket:
Build a hamburger page with velcro mustard & ketchup, and fries that come out.
Classic barn page. The doors open and inside are these finger puppets:

The seasons page: snap on leaves for fall, flowers for summer, leave bare for winter.
Mailbox page with envelopes for missionaries & grandparents. Also a pocket to hold coloring paper and markers, crayons, etc.

Shapes page- balloons held by the monkey, which is an iron-on applique from Joann's:
Button on ice cream scoops, or they can go in the ice cream truck:
Tic tac toe game, the pieces can go in the pocket on the next page- good zipper practice:

I used the really thick felt for most of the pages which I think will hold up much better than the normal felt. I also discovered wonder under and it became my new best friend. It's so easy to use and so useful in many different projects! Most of my ideas I got from these two websites:
It's been a fun project but I'm excited to be done. Now I just want to make a church quietbook someday...we'll see if that ever happens! :)
