Summer has officially gone way too fast- I can't believe it's time for us to start our crazy adventure of baby & move!! Today, Kaylie Rae Rumsey decided she wanted to join our family a little early- so our precious little girl is here!
She was born at 10:16 am, weighs 6 lbs 12 oz, and is 20 inches. She's so perfect and snugly. I'll post more details of the birth and pictures later.

This was me yesterday - 38 1/2 weeks

We will get to enjoy her all week and then on Saturday, August 3rd, Paul will load all of our stuff into the moving truck and on Monday we'll head out of town!  Even though we haven't enjoyed the winters here in Idaho Falls, we've really come to enjoy living here and will especially miss our friends. We've done so many fun things that I can't even start to mention them all, but here are a few from the last few weeks:

We had a fun morning at the zoo with Decker &; Callie Eddie. It was so nice to just chat with Camie while we walked around. We have loved getting to know them since they moved into the ward last year and I'm going to miss morning walks, evening zumba, olympic parties, and watching our kids play together.

Lyla and Lia Hendrix play so well together! They are so sweet together and can play for hours.

Lyla loved doing dance this year with several friends- Brecklee Eddins
and Allie Nielson &; Marie Myrup from our ward.

One of the biggest blessings of moving here was getting to live right across the street from the Nielsons. Allie and Lyla are one year apart and very similar in personality, and Kyler and Trevor are about 7 months apart. We have had hundreds of playdates, zoo trips, walks in the mall to get out of the snow, swimming excursions. I almost feel like Allie and Kyler are my kids- I get emotional when I think of not having them over at our house anymore. Michelle has been such a lifesaver to me- we've watched each other's kids during dr's appointments, traded off so she could teach piano and I could work, and helped each other during our recent moves. It was such a tender mercy when they bought their new house just 1 mile from where we've been renting so we've been able to continue getting together and helping each other. Thank you Nielsons, for being such sweet friends! We will miss you all so much!

Summer 2013

We've had a busy but great summer so far. Once we got through the stress of the first move, it's been nice to focus on having fun with my kiddos. Almost every morning we go on a walk to the zoo or park which are both really close. I've found that 8:30 is my favorite time to visit the park because it's not hot yet and no one else is there.  We've gone to Rigby Lake, the splash park in Rexburg, and spent a week swimming at the Apple gym pool everyday thanks to a pass from the Nielsons. We've tried to have lots of friends over to play or met them at parks to spend as much time with them before we leave. We've watched Paul play in several softball games and gone golfing with him. I love just asking Lyla when she wakes up what we should do that day and letting her help me plan our activities! Here are some of the random pictures lately:

Lyla and I spent weeks talking about what we would do for Father's day and she was so excited to think of activities she thought he would love! She drew a picture of the events of the day and presented it to him in the morning. We made him breakfast, went to the short course to have some golf time which both kids loved, then Lyla and daddy played dress ups during Trevor's nap cuz I had an errand to run- this was the part she was most excited about- :).  Then we got ice cream, dropped Paul off at the leadership session of stake conference while the kids and I went to the pet store. Then we picked up pizza and ate with Paul since there wasn't time to go home before the adult session. It was a perfect day spent all together- I love days like that where we have fun together and everyone is happy! We're grateful to have such a great husband/father in our lives!!

Walking down by the river- Trevor especially loves to feed the ducks.
Alyssa came to visit and we had the best week ever!! Highlights were Rigby lake, zumba, and running thru sprinklers.
The kids stayed with my family while Paul and I found a house to rent in AZ. It was over the 4th of July- they went for a fun bike ride and then did our traditional swimming/BBQ.

Love my sweet, sassy girl. I really hope we can always be close and have as much fun together as we do now!

Trevor loves riding on daddy's shoulders. My little boy is growing up so fast, learning to say new words each day. He's becoming just as stubborn as his older sister so we're trying to find better ways to work through those situations. He's very particular about what clothes he wears, who puts him to bed, how his hotdogs are cut, etc. If both Paul and I are home he'll switch between wanting one of us to help him- if we wants me to get him out of his carseat he'll say "no dad!" over and over. He is constantly making us laugh- cute boy!
Lyla sliding at our favorite Tautphaus park.

Lyla's first real haircut. It was just a tiny trim because her goal is to have hair like Rapunzels.

We say Tarzan at the Scera shell- Lyla was spellbound the whole time.

Trevor reading on our long drive to Utah

One of their favorite games is to say "Wolves!" and then to hide under a blanket. Trevor is hilarious and gets so into it- telling us all to be quiet because the wolves will hear us!

Here he is pretending to sleep, by covering his eyes of course. He also does this during movies if he gets scared because there is a dinosaur or other scary part.
Lyla also "sleeping"

Trevor waiting for daddy to come to Nana's house

The Melaleuca picnic was as hot as ever this year, but the best part was definitely the horse rides. Lyla was brave enough to ride this year and she enjoyed it, but Trevor LOVED the experience. He loves horses and calls them "neigh". He rode 3 times in a row and just couldn't get enough.
