Videos

Can you tell that Lyla is so excited to start her dance class today??

Here are some other videos of what we've been doing lately:

Trevor loves seeing daddy walk in the door at night and loves to play with him.

Trevor doing his army crawl around the house:

Trevor discovered Lyla's special chair when she wasn't looking one day and now loves sitting in it

Lyla was so excited when I found a Cinderella costume for her at a consignment store:

I promise I didn't intentionally introduce Lyla to this song, but she came to a few zumba classes with me and now she is always begging me to turn it on so she can dance. I seriously don't know where she gets her dance moves! :)

Paul's ride on the bull

Paul represented his group at Melaleuca in a mechanical bull riding contest at the annual Melaleuca picnic in July.  It was fun to watch him ride...but unfortunately he didn't stay on quite long enough to win. We had fun cheering him on though!!

Elder Tyson Bishop is home!!

I can't believe it's been 2 whole years since Tyson left on his mission to the Guatemala North Mission. It doesn't seem long ago when Lyla and i spent the week with him before he entered the MTC. It's crazy that now she is almost 3 and now my baby is Trevor! Life changes so quickly.
I drove down with my kids on Sunday evening - August 5th. I settled them in bed and was ready to pick up the babysitter so I could greet Ty at the airport, but then found out the flight was delayed. They kept delaying it so that instead of coming in at 11, it didn't get in until after 1 am. I decided it was too late so I tried to sleep a bit and then woke up to welcome the tired travelers at 3 am.

We all went to St George for a few days so that we could have Tyson all to ourselves to get reacquainted.  We sweated through Aladdin at Tuacahn- it was 97 degrees at  10:30 at night!

We spent 3 days boating and we all had a blast! It was so hot that we loved frequent jumps into the refreshing water. Trevor loved cuddling with Nana and he took great naps in her arms every day.

Every time lyla got too hot, she asked Alyssa to jump in with her

Trevor's comfort pose- sucking his thumb and holding his hair.

He even fell asleep standing up, just like Lyla did last year.

Crazy Josh helped me take the kids on the tub. We went super slow and Lyla loved it! Trevor wasn't as happy cuz he hated his life jacket.

We had fun relaxing together, but then it was nice to go back to Orem where Jeanne and then Paul joined us for the weekend. We missed them and Alisha in St. George, and definitely missed the rest of the Grossarths the whole time. Can't wait for Christmas!!

Our true characters coming out...very scary :)  I have so many great memories of all 7 of us and it was fun to laugh about all of our funny stories from growing up. Life has changed for all of us but we all love getting together and hanging out. Tyson already seems so adjusted and is ready to start school in less than a week. He is so open and takes such an interest in each of our lives. I feel like we were able to pick right back up and I feel so close to him despite the 2 year gap.

Bear Lake trip

We had a great time at the Rumsey family reunion at Bear Lake a few weeks ago!! We had some rain, but the weather was pretty warm and nice most of the time we were there. We loved hanging out at North beach- my favorite part was that the water was really shallow for a long time so Lyla could just play without any worry of deep water. She had a blast steering her "boat" all around, and Trevor enjoyed the ride as well!

The kids loved seeing Grandma & Grandpa- although it definitely wasn't long enough! Lyla was spoiled with attention and treats throughout the weekend and she loved it all! Trevor liked to dig in the sand and definitely tried it a few times!

Two of Paul's cousins who were there have 4 darling girls and Lyla immediately claimed them as her best friends. She followed them around everywhere and loved playing with them.

Paul took Lyla for a slow jet ski ride which we thought she would love because she loves to go boating, but after a few minutes he looked down and realized she was sobbing. Poor girl was terrified even before they picked up speed at all!

Some of us decided to go for a run one day and about the time we turned around, it started to down pour! It rained so hard that we were drenched in seconds but it was fun to splash in puddles and have rain dripping down our faces.

It was a fun, relaxing weekend and we especially loved spending time with Ben and Grandma & Grandpa Rumsey. Lyla misses them a lot and loves talking to them on the phone.
